Well…Last week I decided to make a list of all the unfinished projects in our house…You know, those things you do not get finished because, like in my case, you are working on other peoples projects!
I have always kept a running tally of the things in my head that I need to do decorating wise, but have never actually put it ALL on paper. All I can say is “oh my!”
First of all, there are 18 rooms in ‘this old house’. Just that in itself is daunting!
Next, within each room, there are at least 5 (mostly more) projects that need to be done. And…a lot of them have my name on them because the project has to do with fabric, decorative painting, electrical work, or choosing items to purchase.
So, I do believe I (and my husband) have our work cut out for us. It is January of a new year, and I have decided that every day I need to do a little bit so that I can actually cross something off the list!
This past weekend, I had 2 slipcovers to finish. Both you would really never know they weren’t done unless you were cleaning and got stuck by a pin, or knew what the original piece looked like!
In the photos above: I bought this red sectional for $200 on Craigs list. It was the perfect size for the TV room/den but was really ugly fabric and missing a cushion. The old owner said it came that way…I suspect a family dog had something to do with the missing piece!
I hauled it home and of course my husband rolled his eyes :) But I already had a plan, and as you can see from the finished product, it worked out great! We are both please. The room is turning into a cozy nest for movie watching…
